First Time Visit

New to Pilates? Feeling excited, nervous, maybe even a bit intimidated for your first session? Here at Absolute Pilates, we believe that customized individual training is the best way to learn and absorb the Pilates Method.

Our goal for new clients is to provide a cohesive introduction to the classical method while meeting the unique needs of each client. As a beginner, it is highly encouraged that you complete private sessions. Our 50-minute fully customized sessions will introduce you to the foundational concepts of Pilates while beginning to address long term movement goals, as well as learn and address any necessary spring and apparatus modifications that best support your movement needs. This will allow you to feel more comfortable with the equipment, and allow for confident movement.

Qualified Instructors

Kristin Olson

Kristin’s fascination with human movement and athletics inspired her field of study at UW-Eau Claire. After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology, Kristin worked as a personal trainer at a local health club where she discovered the ultimate total body workout, Pilates. Kristin pursued a Romana’s Pilates Certification in 2004 from Romana Kryzanowska, heir to Joseph Pilates work. Eternally a student, Kristin attends conferences, workshops, and lessons from leveled teachers to further her knowledge and experience.

Becky Fiorenza

For Becky, movement is life. She can be found playing competitive soccer, skiing, mountain biking and sailing with her family on the infamous Wisconsin lakes, and running on the local trails year-round. With the rigors of this movement, Becky immediately realized the difference the Pilates method has to offer and immediately dedicated herself to becoming a life-long Pilates student.

Sheila Smith

Sheila has always loved sports and staying active. She has been a teacher of exercise classes since 1988. She found Pilates to keep her body strong and healthy to keep teaching classes until she is 80 years old, she hopes. She received her Pilates certification through The Pilates Center, Boulder, CO in 2006. She has a commitment to learning and growth and also studied Pilates through Romana’s Pilates, Chicago, IL and The Franklin Method of movement.

Bonnie Johnson

Bonnie began her Classical Pilates practice journey in 2014, working under Peak Pilates Level 3 Master Instructor, Trey Fry. Once the Peak Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program was formalized in WI, she enrolled, completed, and has never looked back. Bonnie completed her Comprehensive Training in May, 2021 under the guidance of Trey Fry, Zoey Trapp (Executive Director Education – Peak Pilates), and Kathryn Coyle (Senior Master Instructor & Mentor – Peak Pilates).

Sarah Leonard

Sarah Leonard’s deep love of Pilates began in the early 2000s, when she discovered that a weekly Pilates mat class worked wonders in relieving chronic back pain. After practicing Pilates regularly for ten years, she decided to enroll in The Pilates Center’s teacher training program, which she completed in 2014. Since this time, she has continued to teach and study Pilates with instructors from The Pilates Center, BASI Pilates, and Romana’s Pilates. She is a lifelong student of Pilates and movement therapy, and she is particularly interested in using Pilates as a tool to relieve occasional pain and stiffness, and maintain lifelong wellness.

Tamara Burkett

Tamara started her Pilates journey as a practice body for a friend going through certification a few years ago. After three private sessions, she felt stronger, her flexibility and her ability to focus increased. Tamara quickly realized Pilates had an immediate impact on her mental, spiritual and physiological self. No other exercise had the same effect. Now, as a lifelong student, Tamara studies Pilates on her journey to be the best version of herself. Tamara is a Peak Pilates® Level 1 & 2 certified teacher and is currently completing her Level 3 certification. Tamara’s teaching style challenges her students and focuses on building stronger mind-body connection.
